Feeling better
Several months ago Daddy wasn't too well. I asked him, when he seemed a bit recovered, 'Daddy, are you not feeling better now?' He was very impressed not just by my compassion and concern for his well-being, but also at my perfectly articulated and enunciated question. Mommy said I sounded positively Victorian. She says our house is Victorian, too. I'm not sure about the connection between the two.
Last week, I was not feeling well. I was very 'poorly'--as it is called here--with a tummy bug. I kept Mommy busy with lots of laundry in the middle of the night, as she had to change my sheets and pajamas three times and ran out of any sort of sheet or PJ option pretty quickly. Lambie and a few other of the critters on my bed had to get a bath, too. But I am feeling better now!
I am very excited about Christmas! I have a new Advent Calendar that has little pockets with characters from the story in it, and a scene to put them on. (Thanks, GaGa Donna!!) The people and animals are little finger puppets with velcro on the back so they stick to the scene. (There are also palm trees and stars, but I don't think they have the elastic (under the velcro) that makes them finger puppets.) I like arranging them and re-arranging the sheep and camels and innkeeper and stars and so on. Today I re-arranged two stars in the night sky and put them on opposite sides of the sky. I told Daddy that I was placing one star in the East and one in the West. Daddy isn't quite sure where I got the idea of East and West being opposites. I do like playing with Google Earth, so maybe it was there. And the story says the three kings saw a star in the East. My parents must really think that I don't pay attention, as they are constantly surprised at the things I say.
I'm also learning to count on the calendar pockets the days that have gone by already and the ones that are still to come. I can't wait until we get to number 24 and I can take Baby Jesus out and put him on his velcro nest in the manager! Baby Jesus is the only figure with removable clothes. Maybe that's what 'swaddling' means! Mommy says that babies need to have their nappies [diapers] and clothes changed pretty often. Guess Mary had to do laundry, too.
