Nee-Naw!

Several times a day I say "Nee-Naw! Nee-Naw!" No, I'm not usually talking about my cousin Nina (although I am sometimes). Often I say it this way: "Naa-Nuu! Naa-Nuu!" That makes MaMa and DaDa laugh. I don't know why. [Could this be the reason? If you need clarification look here.]

A Nee-Naw or Naa-Nuu is any vehicle that flashes lights and/or has a siren. Vehicles like this one on the cover of one of my books. I say it whenever I see and/or hear one go by! I think it would be cool to drive a Nee-Naw. Whenever I see one, I also say "Helmet!" MaMa has to sometimes correct me, as only firemen get to wear helmets, not generally ambulance drivers or trash collectors [Br. Eng. "binmen"] .

Here I am, practicing for the job, though! My Aunt Kristi gave me this outfit. (There are trousers that go with it, but I already had my jeans on when I asked for MaMa to help me into the coat and hand me the helmet. Come to think of it, she gave me these jeans, too!) The fireman outfit is size 6-9 months, but still fits (all except the "helmet", which is a little small now). Our landlord, having lived through something called the Blitz, is very nervous about fire, so there are lots of fire extinguishers in our house. So I have lots of opportunity to practice!
