C D E . . .

Right now I'm fascinated by letters, or "C D E" as I call them. I try to sing the alphabet song and I start on C for some reason. A and B are perfectly good letters, but for some reason the sequence C D E really caught my ear.

My Grandma Shirley gave me a whole bunch of books. One series is all about 1, 2, 3's: My One Book, My Two Book, etc. The other is about CDE's: My A Book, My B Book, etc. I already had figured out when there are two of something--like when we pass two dogs or when I want two cookies. I figured that out LONG ago, as this old blog entry from January can tell you. I can now count up to four things . . . well, I did once!

Tonight, DaDa was reading me My M Book. I like a lot of things that start with M, like monkeys and MaMa. After he read the book, he read through the alphabet that is on the last page. Then he asked me, "Can you point to the M?" And I did! He thought maybe it was because the letter M was in a different color than all the other CDE's. So he had MaMa bring another book. She handed him My V Book. DaDa asked again, "John Morgan, which one is the M?" And I showed him again, even though it wasn't in a special color. MaMa was really surprised. DaDa is wondering when he is going to have to start paying for college for me . . . .
