Easter

I thought I might put up a few pictures from the trip.

Here I am on the flight from London, with the remote control for the TV/radio--which also has a phone on one side! (MaMa said it was a good thing it didn't really work! I used up their remaining credit on their US cellphone by figuring out how to call Aunt Laura and the Operator....!) You can also see the double decker bus that was a surprise present for the trip [ed.: bought in Duty Free].

Here's one of me with DaDa on the little plane to DC. We're reading one of my favorite books, Busy Airport. Boy, did that book ever come alive during the trip!! MaMa says she never wants to read that book again.

Guess what?? It SNOWED while we were there!!! Yep, the day before Easter! I woke up in the morning and the ground was white!!!

Here I am in the remains of the snow--it melted pretty quickly . . .

. . . but not before I could write my name in it!

The next day was Easter. We were looking forward to going to church to celebrate Jesus' big day, but no one could find the car keys. The four big people looked for them for what seemed like forever but was really only 45 minutes. Finally they found them, but it was too late. Oh well.

We had a very nice Easter lunch, though, with Aunty Lacey's mom and dad (and Claire's grandparents!) -- Alice and John Washington. Aunty Jody's mom happened to be at the same place! And there was a big organ in one of the rooms we hung out in after the meal; I had fun playing that!

Then we came back to GaGa's and PaPa's and I had a nap. When I woke up, it was time for the Easter egg hunt! That was exciting! PaPa helped me find one of the eggs that a bunny rabbit was hiding . . .

. . . then I was off and running, looking for more while PaPa and GaGa watched and gave me hints!

After finding all the eggs outside and putting them in my basket, I went inside and found a BIG basket that was filled with all sorts of goodies and animals! MaMa seems to have hidden most of the treats though!

Eventually we finally got around to making Easter cookies! That was fun! I got to cut out a lot of the shapes on my highchair tray. Then we baked them and enjoyed them for several days . . . until PaPa got hungry one day and finished them off!

We also celebrated MaMa's birthday! I love birthdays! I can tell you all about birthdays. Just say the word and I will say "Cake! Candles [can-can]! Pffff! [blowing out of can-can]" MaMa got her hair cut--it looked really different! We went to the restaurant where MaMa and DaDa had their first official "date"--Cafe Oggi. Here I am, wanting to blow out the candle and mad that we have to wait for the camera!

The real party was back home, with a yummy cake GaGa got at "Pastries by Randolph". But... I fell asleep on the way home! Darn! But GaGa hadn't forgotten me and had gotten me my very own cake with a bunny rabbit in icing on the top that I enjoyed the next day! She even let me blow out my own candle . . . several times!

I did lots of other things while I was there.

I took over the remote control from PaPa.

PaPa forgave me and even read me a story....

And I made GaGa some "tea" in my teapot (brought with me all the way from England)! I think she liked it!

There was more that happened, like the eight deer that walked through GaGa and PaPa's backyard. But... you have probably seen enough by now! I'll try to catch you up on the other things that have happened since our trip, but maybe tomorrow or the next day. I need to have a rest and take it easy this week because . . . I've come down with chickenpox! More on that another day!
